Building a Year of Qur'anic Learning
A common question we receive is also one of the most important: where do I start, and what comes next? Adult learners rarely have unlimited time, and they want to know that the hours they invest are part of a real pathway.
AtTartil QI's year is shaped around exactly this question. Rather than offering disconnected classes, our programmes are arranged so that each step prepares the learner for the next — from foundations all the way to teaching readiness.
Foundations First
Everything begins with a strong foundation: correct recitation, basic tajwid, and an honest relationship with the Qur'an as a daily companion. Without this, later study floats. With it, later study has somewhere to land.
Our foundational sessions are intentionally unhurried. They are designed for learners who want to do this properly, even if it takes longer, rather than rush past the basics and pay for it later.
Understanding the Language of the Qur'an
Once the foundation is in place, the next door opens: understanding what is being recited. Our Qur'anic Language Made Easy pathway is built for adult learners who want to begin recognising the words and structures of the Qur'an in a structured, gentle way.
This is often the stage where learners describe a real shift. Familiar verses begin to speak. Recitation in prayer becomes more present. The Qur'an stops being a sound and becomes a conversation.
“A year of Qur'anic learning is not a single programme — it is a sequence of small, faithful steps.”
Toward Teaching Readiness
For learners who want to go further, our PICGAS pathway is designed to prepare aspiring Qur'an teachers — bringing together Qur'anic foundations, language, and the responsibilities of teaching. It is a serious commitment, and it is treated as such.
Not every learner needs to walk this road, and that is fine. But for those who feel called to teach, the pathway exists so that they do not have to assemble it themselves from scattered pieces.
Annual Programmes and the Wider Year
Around the core pathway, our annual programmes mark important moments in the calendar — Ramadan preparation, Qurban, and reflective journeys. These are not separate from the learning pathway; they are part of how a year of Qur'anic learning is lived.
Whatever stage you are at, there is a next step. If you are unsure where to begin, our team is glad to help you find the right entry point — simply reach out and we will walk you through it.
